Weekend in Madrid
It’s been beautiful here every day, with only a few “bumps”. I went
into downtown Madrid yesterday to visit and site-see. Just as I
boarded the metro a pickpocket lifted my wallet. I jumped off again
and ran after him. He got stuck on the up-escalator (gave me time to
take the stairs). When I grabbed his shoulder, he turned and said “Oh
s_t”, then handed me back my wallet. Didn’t realize until 30 minutes
later he’d already pulled out my reserve of US dollars (about $120)
but left all my Euros. Still, I got my credit cards and ID back.
Otherwise a near-perfect day.
